The homestead was built in 1948 by the grandfather of the recent owner. It served as a mixed farm with horses, cows, pigs and chickens.
Due to an extensive reorganization of the farming sector in 1972, grandfather Van Vlokhoven chose to continue as a hobby farmer. The farm has been in use as a dwelling since then.
In 1994 grandchild Freek Raymakers takes over the homestead. It is his passion for design and building which leads him to start with renovation, restoration and rebuilding.
1997 then sees the start of “Raymakersontwerp”, a company in which Freek Raymakers focuses on interior design and realization.
In 1998, his wife Inge joins him in the former cow stable with “Schelft Graphic Design”.
In 2001 and 2003, the family is extended with the birth of two daughters, Charlotte and Pauline. The pony, dog and cat may, of course, also be seen as addition to the family.
2011 sees the realization of the apartment: a stylish dwelling in a peaceful and green environment and in which “Raymakersontwerp” has clearly put its heart and soul.
