The surroundings of the Oudven Homestead

The apartment is uniquely located. The view is rural while it is at the edge and near the center of a small town strategically located within the Eindhoven Brainport Region. The Oudven Homestead is located at the heart of the small town of Mierlo. The center of town is within easy walking distance. There, you will find a library, a supermarket with post office, a delicatessen, an ice-cream parlor, bakeries, butcher, wine and liquor store, sports store, bicycle stores, ladies and men’s fashion stores and a cozy restaurant, amongst others. Mierlo offers a wide range of sports facilities. Outdoor facilities include running/jogging, field hockey, soccer and horse riding. The “The Brug Active” offers a wide range of indoor sports and recreational facilities. www.debrugactive.nl Golfclub “De Gulbergen” is nearby. This golfclub is one of the larger ones in the Netherlands. The 18-hole par 70 course, with a length of 5.665 meters, is quite challenging. The 9-hole par 62 Old Course is 3.320 meters as measured over 18 holes. www.golfclubdegulbergen.nl The Oudven Homestead is near the beautiful Strabrecht Moors. The Strabrecht Moors are the largest continuous moors of the province of Brabant (over 1500 ha) with dry areas with drifting sand as well as wet areas with large and small pools. The “Beuven” is the largest such pool in the Netherlands. You can bike and hike here for hours and enjoy the beauty and peace of nature. The moors offer plenty of hiking, biking and ATB-trails.
